Kim Richards, one of the stars of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday night. The reality television star, who is 50 years of age, was at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel when local law enforcement was called.

According to a source, Kim, aunt of celebrity Paris Hilton, and sister of Kyle Richards, one of her cast mates was being "unruly" and said that she had been drinking. The source claims that the bartender decided to stop serving Richards sometime after midnight, deciding that she had had enough to drink.

In response to this, the star became angry, asking the bartender, "Don't you know who I am?" After that, reality television personality apparently locked herself in a bathroom and refused to come out, at which point the police were called.

According to reports by police, Richards allegedly kicked a police officer at the police station, and according to the TMZ website, she was charged with trespassing, resisting an officer, public intoxication and battery on a police officer.

Richards was released later, and will have to appear in court on the 10^th of May. It is no secret that Richards has been battling alcoholism for some time. Her struggle is well documented and she has even admitted that she has had to spend time in rehab more than one time.

In the last season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the star stated that she had been sober for three years.

After she was arrested, one of her fellow cast members, Eileen Davidson tweeted "I feel badly for Kim Richards and her family my thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time."
