'House of Cards' Star Kevin Spacey Drops F-Bomb During Acceptance Speech at Golden Globes
Actor Kevin Spacey used the F-word in his speech after he won Best Performance by an Actor for his role in 'House of Cards' at the Golden Globes Awards.
The actor had been nominated eight times already but this is the first time he actually got the award. Celebrities were shocked as they heard Spacey say, "This is the eighth time I've been nominated. I can't F****ing believe I won."
Spacey also joked that winning is the start of his revenge. The actor thanked the creators and producers of 'House of Cards' and proceeded to tell a story about the late filmmaker Stanley Kramer when he was ill.
Spacey narrated that he visited Kramer while he was on a wheelchair at the Motion Picture and Television home and told the filmmaker how much he loved his works.
"The films you made, the subjects you tackled, the performances you got out of some of the greatest actors who have ever walked the face of the earth, the Oscars you've won-you're films will stand the test of time and will influence filmmakers for all time," Spacey told Kramer.
The 'American Beauty' actor did not have any idea if Kramer understood what he said but he was surprised when the director replied "Thank you so much for saying that. That means so much to me. I just wish my films could have been better."
The memory of their conversation inspired Spacey to be better in his craft. He added that the award is an encouragement for him to keep on improving.
Spacey joined fellow awardees such as Julianne Moore who won Best Performance in a Drama- Actress for playing the lead role in 'Still Alice' and Eddie Redmayne who bagged the Actor category for portraying as Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything'.
Spacey will continue to show his acting chops as 'House of Cards' returns on Netflix for its third season on Feb. 27, 2015.
