Kentucky Wildcats vs Wisconsin Badgers Preview, Live Stream Link: Watch NCAA Final Four Matchup Online
Even before March Madness began, these two teams were pegged for a collision somewhere deep in the tournament. And now, the two No. 1 seeds, the Kentucky Wildcats and the Wisconsin Badgers, face each other in the Final Four for the second straight year.
Last year, Aaron Harrison drained a game winning three-pointer with five seconds left on the clock to edge Wisconsin 74-73. This year, it's a significantly different cast for the Wildcats, as out of the seven Kentucky players that played at least 10 minutes in their Elite Eight game against Notre Dame, only the Harrison twins played in last year's championship game.
This year's Kentucky group, who are looking to be the first team ever to win 40 games in a season, are led by the frontcourt duo of Karl-Anthony Towns, who had 25 points, five rebounds, and four assists against Notre Dame, and Willie Cauley-Stein, who was injured in last year's title game.
They face what has become a rare breed in today's college game"”a Final Four team that is led by veterans. Wisconsin is led by one of the 12 finalists for the John Wooden Award, senior center Frank Kaminsky, who is coming off a 29-point, 6-rebound game against Arizona. Junior Sam Dekker might just be the man to watch as he has been on fire in his last two outings, with a combined 50 points, while also going 5-6 from three against Arizona.
Kentucky bests Wisconsin in season averages, scoring 75 points per contest, while only allowing the nation's third best clip of 53.9. Wisconsin, for its part, averages 72.8 points per game, while giving up the nation's 12th-best scoring defense at 57.8 points allowed.
Many pundits figure this matchup will produce the eventual national champions, and fan should be in for a treat when the two finally take the court in Indianapolis.
Kentucky and Wisconsin face off on April 4 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Tip-off is scheduled at 8:49 pm, with the action televised live on CBS. To watch a live stream link for the upcoming match up, click here.
