Kentucky Wildcats NCAA 2015 News: Could the 34-0 March Madness Tournament Team Fare Well in the NBA?

The Kentucky Wildcats are on pace to be one of the historically greatest college basketball teams. Coming into the NCAA Tournament, they are 34-0 and have a real shot at going 40-0 should they win the national title.

Recently, former NBA champion coach, and current Southern Methodist University Mustangs coach Larry Brown gave Kentucky high praise.

"I honestly believe Kentucky would make the NBA Playoffs in the East," Brown said during the media rounds before SMU's game versus UCLA as tweeted by Matt Jones.

Saying that the NBA Eastern Conference this season is not at top form is quite the understatement. Currently, the Boston Celtics hold the eighth spot in the conference at seven games below .500 (tied in the win loss column with number nine Indiana Pacers, with the Charlotte Hornets having just one win less than the fore mentioned teams).

The New York Knicks have the worst record in the league with just 14 wins, and the Philadelphia 76ers are not much better with 16.

As Kelly Dwyer of Ball Don't Lie points out, Brown has an idea of what a bad NBA team is, having coached a 23-win Knicks team back in 2006.

Back in November, Kentucky head coach John Calipari was quick to douse the "How-would-Kentucky-do-in-the-NBA?" chatter tweeting, "I hear Coach Briggs got excited after the game last night. Let me be clear: If we played ANY NBA team, we would get buried. ANY."

Dwyer notes that the current Kentucky team features potentially four players that could be drafted in the lottery of the next NBA Draft, they are taller than most NBA teams, and have won their games this season by an average of 20.9 points per game.

As the Ball Don't Lie piece makes clear, the Wildcats are an incredibly good college basketball team; the NBA, though, is a different league for a reason.
