Kendall Jenner News: Channels The ‘Mean Girls’ and Writes ‘Burn Book’ About Herself
Kendall Jenner responded to haters and commenters by releasing a parody inspired by the 2004 film 'Mean Girls' in her own burn book directed at herself.
19-year-old Jenner and her sister Kylie were recently named among the top 25 of the Most Influential Teens by TIME. They made the list alongside the likes of First Daughters Sasha and Malia Obama, Pakistani youth activist Malala Yousafzai, Hong Kong youth protester Joshua Wong, and more.
Both TIME and the sisters were criticized for the list and in response, Jenner posted a 'Mean Girls' parody video.
In the 2004 film starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfriend and more, the burn book contained the names of girls in their local high school. For each person, there was a list of hateful and insulting comments written down about them.
In her video, Jenner could be seen in the video with her own burn book, writing down the comments and rumors that have been said about herself. She wrote down comments, such as how she was "one of the richest, prettiest, talentless people ever," how she would never be considered "a real model."
Jenner talked to Dazed, who helped her make the parody video, and admitted in their winter 2014 issue that she gets nervous before walking the runway for a fashion show. She also debunked the rumors that other models were mean to her or bullied her, saying that everyone was "cool" and friendly.
"Kylie and I were brought up around so many adults who were hard workers. There's no way it couldn't be passed on," she said. She complimented her parents for their work ethic and thanked them for their support.
Jenner, who landed at the top of the Dazed 100 list, said that she knew better than to take things personally in the business and just brushed things off.
"Follow your dreams," she said.
