Kate Middleton News: PSA Shows Duchess of Cambridge in Support of Children’s Mental Health Week

The United Kingdom is having its first Children's Mental Health Week, and it is off to good start with a PSA video of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, showing her passionate support for the program.

Showing off her small baby bump, Middleton expressed her concern for the children of the United Kingdom that they are not getting the attention for mental health they need. The video was shot at the Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School in Beckenham, England. Middleton spent three hours at the school last week, playing with the children.

The PSA video was sponsored by the charity Place2Be, one that both the princess, age 33, and her husband William support. "Both William and I have seen that many young people are struggling to cope with the impact of bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown and more."

She says in the clip, "A child's mental health is just as important as their physical health and deserves the same quality of support. No one would feel embarrassed about seeking help for a child if they broke their arm; and we really should be equally ready to support a child coping with emotional difficulties."

Middleton further encouraged both children and adults to talk openly about the issues mentioned in the video. Middleton expressed in the video that the more people talk about these issues, the better off the children of the U.K. will be. Hopefully the awareness will increase from Place2Be's and Middleton's efforts.
