Earlier this week, reports emerged saying that Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy have called off their engagement. The actress is the daughter of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell and Bellamy is the lead singer of the band Muse.

The two have been together for over four years and got engaged in April 2011. They have a son together who was born in July 2011. Apparently the two have been broken up for a while, but finally made the official announcement. However, the two are very committed to being great parents to their son. Many of their friends and family say that Kate is very happy living in L.A. whereas Matt loves being in England.

Other rumors have been flying around since this news hit. Kate Hudson has already been seen out with Derek Hough of 'Dancing with the Stars' fame. The two were seen out on a date where they had food and wine and were allegedly chatting very intimately. Kate has always said that she loves to dance and even actually practiced her ballroom dancing with Derek at one point in time.

If she has already moved onto Derek Hough, media outlets will surely pick up the real scoop soon. If the two of them keep going out on these nice dates, fans will soon know where their hearts really lie.

On a side note, Matt Bellamy is the second man that Kate Hudson has a child with. She has a ten year old son with the Black Crowes front man, Chris Robinson. They were together until 2006. Hudson admits that she came from a very unconventional family and it seems like that is the family she wants for her children as well.
