Kanye West News: Rapper Gives Advice to Students at College Fashion Show
Kanye West isn't only a husband, a father, a singer and a fashion icon, he's evidently much more. Apparently, West is also a great advisor and a great role model for the young people who are looking to having a career in fashion. West's latest undertaking is a speaker at a college fashion show.
West has always been known to be quite expressive in speaking, like the incident that had many eyebrows raised in the past MTV awards, where Taylor Swift was accepting an award and West just grabbed her microphone and complained.
Now, West is using his speaking skills to good use, that is, encouraging college students interested in fashion and arts to be bold and to take risks in their passion. West himself is the epitome of dreams coming true when he set his mind and action to it.
Showing off different sportswear, children's clothing, bathing suits, and evening wear, the Los Angeles Trade Technical College had many students who are up and coming designers really did impress the singer last Friday night.
West, upon taking the podium to say a few words of advice, said "If it's in your gut, if it's in your soul, there's nothing, there is no worldly possessions that should come between you and your expression," he explained.
Talking about his own experiences, West continued saying, "I always had to fight to be accepted to love and I empathize with anyone in this era who has ever loved fashion."
With all the possibilities that he offered on the table, West also revealed that it is hard to be in the industry saying, "Usually, when you're the absolute best, you get hated on the most." West has been reportedly in and out of the said institute for many speaking and counseling gigs.
West previously appeared at the school to speak to a group of 40 students from their digital communications department as well as speaking to troubled youths who are part of a summer bride program that may not have graduated from high school.
