Serie A leaders Juventus look to move on Wednesday when they visit AS Monaco for the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal. Juventus eked out a 1-0 win last week in Turin with Arturo Vidal scoring from the penalty.

Playing at home, Monaco will have to shake things up and push forward in search of a crucial goal. They remain to be the most surprising name in the competitions, after making it for the first time in nine years.

As noted by SportsMole, whatever the result of the quarterfinal on Wednesday, Monaco can take pride in their performance this season, one year removed from selling a number of their big-name players to develop their younger players.

Juventus, for its part, should take advantage of their sudden good fortune. Apart from drawing Monaco, other tournament favorites"”Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich"”have their backs against the wall, and need to turn out brilliant performances in their respective quarterfinals to stay alive in the Champions League. They have also played well enough during the competitions to be considered legit contenders, losing only two matches in the Champions League so far, both in the group stages.

Juventus are in a great spot to break through from the last-eight stage for the first time since the 2002-2003 season, but they will have to do it without Paul Pogba, Kwadwo Asamoah, Romulo, and Martin Caceres.

Monaco, for their part, will be without Geoffrey Kondogbia, and Jeremy Toulalan at midfield, while Fabinho could also be sitting out the match Wednesday. Monaco has struggled recently after giving Arsenal the boot in the previous round.

Last Saturday, they managed just a 1-1 draw against Rennes, which it made it three league matches without a win for Monaco.

Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim, though, sounded confident they could still turn things around. "We lacked intensity at the end of the match [against Rennes]. We started to feel fatigued. We'll recover and correct the small things for the match against Juventus," he said.
