Martin was charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment the following day, and his bail was set at thirty five thousand dollars.

In addition to 'High School Musical 3' and 'Brotherly Love', he has also starred in 'The Soloist', and 'Flight'.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the exchange of gunfire, however, William Evans, the Boston Police Commissioner told reporters that this was simply a result of luck.

"Our officers put their life on the line every night, and it's just way too many guns out there," stated Evans. "I think we have appealed to the public to help us here, and tonight exhibits the challenge we face nightly out here on the streets."
