Justin Bieber Comedy Central Roast Air Date: 'Boyfriend' Singer's Roast Premieres March 7
As per the network's tradition, their will be a new Comedy Central Roast starring none other than the idolized pop singer Justin Bieber.
Comedy Central commented, "Justin has been asking us for years to roast him, so we kept telling him to create some more material and we're thrilled he listened."
Bieber took to Twitter shortly after announcing his appearance.
"For years I have wanted Comedy Central to roast me. They said only if I provided them w/ more material so for a year now I have worked hard. Finally after all that hard work for my 21st bday it's happening. Thanks @RyanSeacrest & @ComedyCentral for the announcement. Let's do it :)."
The 20-year-old pop star has created quite the controversy for himself, all the way from his underage drinking and DUI's, to his most recent juvenile Calvin Klein ad and photoshop accusations.
The boxer briefs ad was recently parodied on SNL by Kate McKinnon.
"Donning a pair of tiny tighty whities, Kate McKinnon offered up an outrageous impersonation of the singer, mugging for the camera one instant then running around, yelling and trying to pants Cecily Strong the next. Luckily, Bieber's got a sense of humor, tweeting afterwards, '@nbcsnl well played. Lol'," writes Rolling Stone.
In any case, this at least proves Bieber has a sense of humor. For this kind of program participants will need a whole lot. The Roasts classically last for an hour of non-stop skewering of the chosen celebrity, although the celebrity does get an opportunity to strike back.
"Bieber's Comedy Central roast will be the network's first burn-fest since the 2013 roast of James Franco. Other celebrities that have gotten their own special in recent years include Roseanne Barr, Charlie Sheen, Donald Trump, Joan Rivers and Bob Saget," writes Rolling Stone.
The Comedy Central Roast is scheduled to air on March 7th.
