'Justice League: Part 1' News: J.K. Simmons Plays Commissioner James Gordon; Film Shows Underwater City?
Veteran actor J.K. Simmons has revealed some niceties about the first "Justice League" movie when he was interviewed about his role as Commissioner Gordon.
In a recent interview, Simmons confirmed that he will play Commissioner James Gordon in "Justice League: Part 1," although his character will not be in the main spotlight and will have very little screen time.
Talking about his role, Simmons said that the actors who played the role of Commissioner Gordon previously have left a range of impressions among fans, but he will not try to imitate any of them in any way.
"I'm just planning on learning as much as I can about him through the comics and getting my feet wet in the first movie, and then hopefully continuing on from there," he said.
The actor said that while his role in "Justice League: Part 1" will be very small, fans should expect to see more of him in the next installments of the film.
"I'm going into a thing that hopefully will be two, three, four, maybe more movies for me, and my part in the first one is really very small," he said. He also disclosed that he will start filming in June.
In other news, "Justice League: Part 1" will feature a major conflict in the underwater city of Atlantis. According to rumors, it will most likely give way to the storyline of another DC live-action film, "Aquaman."
"Justice League: Part 1" will hit theaters on November 17, 2017, while the next installation is expected to come out on June 14, 2019.
