‘Justice League Dark’ Update: Gets ‘Moneyball’ Filmmaker Brendon Breese As Director
DC's upcoming comics film 'Justice League Dark' has just found its director.
According to Movie Pilot, "Moneyball" director Brendon Breese is set to helm the film. This entails that Fede Alvarez, Aharon Keshales, and Navot Papushado will not direct the film. The reason behind was Warner Bros. is very thorough on their selections in film directors, actors, and actresses. The studio reported gives its filmmakers the opportunity to show their filmmaking and storytelling skills.
Breese is known for his contributions in "Ant-Man," "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," "Contagion," and "The Internship."
"Justice League Dark" centers on the adventures of characters similar to John Constantine, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon, among others. As a team of mystical heroes, the characters are set to stop dark magical threats in DC's Cinematic Universe, as per Comics Alliance.
The upcoming film is reported to showcase a blend of fantasy and magic skills over a pure action superhero theme.
"The Truman Show" producer, Scott Rudin, is set to work on the film, searching for directors and screenwriters who can work on the production in 2016. With the film ongoing in its early phase of development, exact details on "Justice League Dark" plot, characters, cast, and release date are yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, the Justice League is set to form its teams in Zack Snyder's upcoming DC comics film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher among others.
