‘Jurassic World 2’ New Movie News: Chris Pratt Confirms He Will Return for Sequel

As 'Jurassic World,' the fourth installment of the 'Jurassic' franchise, returned with a massive box office debut, fans are already asking whether there will be a sequel to the hit movie. Meanwhile, Chris Pratt, who portrays the character of a velociraptor trainer in the first movie, has confirmed that he has already signed on for the next film, reports IB Times.

When Entertainment Weekly asked the Pratt if he was associated with possible sequels, he promptly replied, "I am." He was quick to add, , "They have me for I think 38 movies or something."

According to the repot, considering the fact that 'Jurassic World' has already grossed $511.8 million from box office collections worldwide, it is very likely that a sequel will be developed. CNN reports, 'Jurassic World,' in fact, has the distinction of the highest-grossing worldwide opening weekend ever. Hence, it is likely that Universal Pictures would want to see if they can continue the success with more films.

Apart from Pratt, it seems that his co-stars are also likely to be on board for the upcoming project. "I would be willing to do 50,000 more 'Jurassic Parks,' but no one has talked to me about 'Jurassic World 2,'" actor Ty Simpkins told Cinema Blend. He added, "But yes, as I said, I would be very open to doing it."

Meanwhile, even Jake Johnson confirmed that he would be happy to participate in 'Jurassic World 2,' but said that nothing has been confirmed as of now. Talking about sequel plans to Screen Rant, he said, "Honestly you're asking the wrong guy," adding, "My name comes up the second they decide to put my name in and I will move anything in my schedule to do it. Especially with Colin [Trevorrow, the director] and Derek [Connolly, one of the screenwriters], if they're back for the second, I'd give a pinkie to be in it."

On the other hand, Chris Pratt has to worry about other sequels before jumping into another 'Jurassic World' movie. He is also the lead actor in Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' films, which are a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While writer James Gunn finished the first draft of the script recently, the movie is slated for release in May 2017.
