'Jurassic World 2' Cast Update: Toby Jones And Rafe Spall Going To Join Team?

Toby Jones and Rafe Spall are reportedly in talks to join the "Jurassic World 2" cast, according to the recent news reports.

This news about the "Jurassic World 2" cast was reported by Variety which, however, doesn't have details of what the two will be playing. J.A. Bayona will helm the sequel while Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall will executive produce.

Toby Jones is no stranger to fantastical movie as he was part of the "Captain America: The First Avenger." Rafe Spall, meanwhile, was also part of the cast of the sci-fi movie, "Prometheus."

The sequel is almost set in stone when the first film opened to $205 million ticket sales in the domestic market during the opening weekend. It eventually earned $652 in the North American market, and $1.67 billion worldwide.

Colin Trevorrow, the director of the first movie, is writing the script for "Jurassic World 2."

While there's no news of the plot for the "Jurassic World 2" just yet, Trevorrow did give some hints during an interview with Wired magazine published in July 2015. There seems to be two themes for the sequel, one is what happens if anybody can just make dinosaurs from the genetic material? And the other is what if the dinosaurs are weaponized?

"I feel like the idea that this isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment," he said. "And when you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it and later on we found it could be used for energy."

Original cast Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are reprising their roles in "Jurassic World 2." There are no news of the other actors who will join the four in the sequel just yet.
