Jon Hamm News, Rumors: 'Mad Men' Actor Allegedly Linked to Brutal 1990 Fraternity Hazing Case
Recent reports have surfaced allegedly linking 'Mad Men' actor, Jon Hamm, to a violent fraternity hazing case in 1990 at the University of Texas.
The records haven't been released publicly as the case was dismissed in 1993, however they detail how the actor played a lead role in a hazing that left a Sigma Nu pledge, beaten, dragged by a hammer, and had his pants lit on fire.
"Criminal records show Hamm, now 44, was charged with hazing and received deferred adjudication, which under Texas law means he had to successfully complete probation but was never convicted. A separate charge of assault was dismissed," writes Huffington Post.
The case has been brought back to light with the actor at the peak of his career and in his final season of AMC's 'Mad Men.' On that note, representatives of the actor have refused to make any responses.
"The pledge, Mark Allen Sanders, said Hamm went on to set his jeans on fire, shove his face in dirt and strike him with a paddle," writes Huffington Post. Sanders left the school thereafter and needed medical care.
On a side note, the Sigma Nu chapter was shut down after the case in 1993.
