Jon Hamm & Jennifer Westfeldt News: Celebrity Couple Announces Split After 18 Years Together
Shocking news recently came about as two long-time partners and usual co-stars Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt announced that they are separating after almost two decades of being together. Although unmarried and no children, 18 years is a long time and many are with them in this difficult time.
The former couple announced their unfortunate split recently through People magazine saying in a joint statement that they have decided to finally call it quits. "With great sadness, we have decided to separate, after 18 years of love and shared history," the former Hollywood lovebirds said adding, "We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible moving forward."
It seems like the split was amicable and there are not much tensed issues between the two except the fact that Hamm previously underwent rehabilitation for his alcohol addiction problem.
Months before announcing their split, the couple previously announced a breakthrough in Hamm's rehab stint. "With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction," a rep for the actor had said.
The couple however didn't mention any reason that caused their split and are just remaining to be silent. Both were last seen together at Hamm's recent New York premiere after party for his latest acting project, the Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, last July 22.
In photos taken of the actor and actress, writer and director, both looked quite happy since the two had big smiles on their faces only to find out that they will be splitting up this month.
It is indeed sad news since Hamm previously mentioned how they are looking to build their own family one day. "We've seen enough of our friends, who shall obviously remain nameless, become parents, and sometimes it's hard not to think they shouldn't have had kids," Hamm said in his 2012 Playboy interview. "I don't have a driving force to have a baby. That said, I'm in a committed relationship, and if it ever came up, I'm not ruling anything out."
