Joey And Rory Feek Update: Couple Shares Their Sweet Valentine's Photo, Reacts Grammy Announcement With Excitement & Tears
Country music duo Joey Feek and Rory Feek spent their big night together, in line with the Valentine's Day and the Grammys Awards.
On Feb. 14, Joey and Rory celebrated Valentine's Day together and watched the Grammys the following day, according to CBS. As per the publication, their rendition of the song "If I Needed You" was nominated for the Grammy Award "Best Country Duo/Group Performance."
The nomination news arrived some months following the revelation that Joey's cancer was advancing and they halted the treatment. It was in 2014 when Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer, a few months following her delivery to their daughter Indiana, who was born with Down Syndrome.
On Feb. 15, the couple took to their official Facebook page their Valentine's photo, with Joey resting on bed and holding a flower and Rory kissing her. The couple looked very sweet, as they shared their moment with a meal on bed. While Joey aimed to attend the Grammys Award, she was reportedly not well enough to go to Los Angeles for the event.
In the couple's blog "This Life I Live," it was indicated that Joey bought Rory a plane ticket to Los Angeles; however, Rory refused to leave his wife.
Rory wrote that Joey had tried talking to him into going with them many many times, adding that his wife even had had a Southwest ticket purchased for him that he had cancelled for he could not leave her. The artist said that he had done many foolish things and had made lots of mistakes in his life, but this was not going to be one of them.
Rory added that instead, he would be sitting beside his wife and cheering on Little Big Town, Blake Shelton, and Chares, along with the talented people who were nominated in their category and others. For Rory, it was an honor to just be part of the night.
At the Grammys Awards, Little Big Town's "Girl Crush" won as the Best Country Duo/Group Performance, as tweeted by The Grammys on Feb. 16.
Reacting to the announcement, Rory and Joey told E! News with "excitement and tears," adding that when one loves country music as much as they do, to be even be nominated for a Grammy for Best Duo/Group Country Vocal Performance was like winning the lottery.
