We just came from the holidays and many of us have accomplished our mission -- to binge-watch Marvel's "Jessica Jones" on Netflix.

In November, the superhero-detective series wrapped up its first season which earned positive reviews it's unique plot which plays with concepts in Science and Psychology. Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritters) is antagonized by Kilgrave (David Tenant), an entity that acquired his vile character and mental powers from a science experiment gone wrong.

Naturally, the show's excellent performance got fans expecting a second season. Unfortunately, we may have to wait a while, or maybe, a lifetime.

As we can recall, "Jessica Jones" is created to fit and add color to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's one of the four solo Marvel series that's also set to take part in the superhero-packed "The Defenders" mini-series alongside the rest of MCU.

Story wise, "Jessica Jones" can add more to its story and develop its characters more before mixing up with other Marvel superheroes. Schedule wise, it sounds like a booking horror.

"There are logistics involved, because Defenders has to shoot by a certain time, contractually. Actually, I'm not sure; I'm not at all involved in those conversations, much to my dismay. The first question is whether or not we will even get a second season. The second question is, if so, when? Will it be before The Defenders or after? I'd certainly love it to be before but there are things that play into that-time, availability," said showrunner Melissa Rosenberg on The Hollywood Reporter.

With "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist" in the pipeline before "The Defenders," it seems like we can't get a Season 2 for anything apart fro "Daredevil.

Assuming the two series and "Man Without Fear" season 2 all air in 2016, "The Defenders" production may not roll until 2017.

The last possibility is for "Jessica Jones" to shoot simultaneously with "The Defenders" -- which can happen if both projects film in the same locations.

Rest assured, Netflix is usually swift to order additional seasons for its shows so we'll soon find out it there's gonna be "Jessica Jones" season 2. But if there is, we still may have to wait," reports Cinemablend.
