'Jessica Jones' Season 1 Spoilers, Cast News: Rachael Taylor to Appear in New Marvel TV Show
Good news has surfaced for Marvel fans excited about the new series 'Jessica Jones'. Finally, it's been confirmed that Rachael Taylor of Grey's Anatomy will play Patricia "Trish" Walker in the upcoming 13 - episode series for Netflix, slated to premiere in latter part of 2015
Walker, a former model and child TV star, first appeared in the comics in 1944. She was called Patsy in the original comics, and went on to receive her own identity as Hellcat, 32 years later.
"The character is a star and a powerhouse, and required an actress who is both," said executive producer and show runner Melissa Rosenberg in a statement.
The series will be overseen by Rosenberg and star Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. According to the storyline, after a short lived life as a superhero, Jones sets up a shop as a private investigator in New York, with the aim of rebuilding her personal and professional career. Thus, she gets pulled into cases requiring extraordinary prowess. The situation becomes complicated when her past life haunts her present and a figure named Kilgrave (David Tennant) reappears.
Tennant, best known for his time-travelling protagonist role in Doctor Who, has also played a part in American mystery series "Gracepoint." Ritter (Jessica Jones), on the other hand has appeared in AMC's drama series Breaking Bad and Don't Trust the B - in Apartment 23 among other acclaimed projects.
Jessica Jones is the second of four planned Marvel's Netflix series. Daredevil starring Charlie Cox is among the other Marvel's Netflix series scheduled to be on air in April.
