Jeremy Lin Trade Rumors: Houston Rockets to Trade Off Lin to 76ers?
Finally, the Houston Rockets have found a team willing to take Jeremy Lin in a trade, The Philadelphia 76ers have put Lin onto their roster as well as making a spot for their first-round pick.
Lin has been disgruntled with the Rockets when they were planning to use his jersey number (no. 7) in part of their campaign to recruit Carmelo Anthony. Lin is set to have $14.89 million next season with a cap hit of $8.37 million. He has been on the trading block for a few weeks now.
The move by the Rockets to trade off Lin is also part of a plan to create room for a maximum contract, they are planning to take on the free-agent, Anthony.
The Rockets have also traded Omer Asik to the New Orleans Pelicans to free up space for the free-agent superstar. Their chances of acquiring Anthony however, is little, forcing the team to turn their attention to Chris Bosh.
The Rockets have offered Bosh a maximum four-year $88 million deal, at the condition that LeBron James decides to leave Miami Heat, which he announced on Friday.
Aside from the 76ers, the Milwaukee Bucks is also a likely team to land the 25-year old point guard. The General Manager for the 76ers hasn't confirmed nor denied reports of his team's interest in acquiring Lin. They have also been talking to several teams regarding the potential trade.
"We are active in conversations with a lot of teams and a lot of agents. Sometimes that leads to transactions and sometimes it doesn't. It will be interesting to see how the next few days play out," according to CSN Philly.
