Jeremy Lin News: Linsanity Facing Huge Challenge as Houston Rockets Go 0-2 Against Portland Trail Blazers
Throughout Jeremy Lin's professional basketball career, the young point guard has always faced multiple obstacles, but now his entire team has one major problem: finding a way to win a game against the Portland Trail Blazers this postseason.
Lin's team, the Houston Rockets, are currently down 0-2 to the Trail Blazers in first round of the 2014 NBA Playoffs, and they will need a comeback of epic proportions to now win the series and progress to the next round of the postseason.
Jeremy Lin had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 32 minutes off the bench in the tight 122-120 loss to the Trail Blazers in Game 1.
Instead of starting Lin last night, Rockets head coach Kevin McHale made the 25-year-old point guard come off the bench again. As a result, Lin only totaled 5 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists in only 24 minutes in Game 2.
Throughout the entire 2013-2014 NBA regular season, Lin has been competing with Patrick Beverley for the Rockets starting point guard position. However, Lin's other major problem right now is his team finding a way to stop Portland's potent offense led by All-Stars Damian Lillard and Lamarcus Aldridge.
"We tried changing it up tonight," said Rockets head coach Kevin McHale to reporters after Aldridge scored at least 43 points in both games in the playoff series against Houston. "Tonight, he was picking and popping and moving and we were having trouble running people at him. We were trying to get the ball out of his hands as much as we could."
Now that the Rockets lost their home court after losing their first two games at the Toyota Center in Houston, they must look to win at least two out of three games when they take to the road to the Moda Center in Portland.
The Rockets still have a chance of winning their 3rd championship in franchise history but the team needs to find a way to win Game 3 tomorrow night.
If the Rockets lose again on Friday night, history will not be on Jeremy Lin and the Rockets' side because no team in NBA history has never won a series after trailing 0-3 in a playoff series.
