Jeremy Lin News: Lin Talks Opening Night, Facing Former Team Houston Rockets With Kobe Bryant's LA Lakers [VIDEO]

In latest Jeremy Lin news, the newest Los Angeles Lakers point guard revealed his thoughts on facing his former team Houston Rockets on Opening Night at the Staples Center.

"To be honest, I think I'm a subplot," said Lin to Lakers Nation in a recent interview, "I'm glad, but it's not an opening night centered around me. It's more Kobe and Dwight."

Lin also talked about the pressure he will experience battling the Rockets and how it would be similar to when he returned to Madison Square Garden in New York as a member of the Houston Rockets a few years ago.

"It kind of reminds me of me going back to New York. Every time I go back to New York now, it's not really as nearly a big of a deal. It was James versus Melo, and now it's Kobe versus Melo. So, I do think it'll be fun. It'll be interesting. I think we're all pretty excited for the game," he stated.

NBA superstar James Harden recently made the following comment regarding his role on the Houston Rockets team after Lin's recent trade to the Los Angeles Lakers:

"Dwight (Howard) and I are the cornerstones of the Rockets. The rest of the guys are role players or pieces that complete our team. We've lost some pieces and added some pieces. I think we'll be fine next season," said Harden to reporters in the Philippines a few weeks ago.

As a result, Lin revealed his thoughts regarding Harden's statement about the Rockets franchise.

"It didn't affect me at all. I agree with his statements. Those two are the cornerstones. They have lost other players and they're going to get other players and they're going to be a good team." said Lin, according to CSN Houston,

He went on to say, "I know who James is as a person and I've spoken to him since I've been traded. He didn't mean it in any derogatory or condescending way, I don't think it's a secret that he and Dwight are the cornerstones of the Houston Rockets."

Lin's Los Angeles Lakers battle his former team (Houston Rockets) on Opening Night at the Staples Center on October 28 at 7:30pm at the TNT Network.
