Jennifer Lopez Talks Divorce in HBO Documentary: Split from Marc Anthony Hurt Singer
Recently, Jennifer Lopez revealed the pain she went through during her split from Marc Anthony while on a world tour, all of which was depicted in a new HBO documentary.
In the documentary 'Jennifer Lopez: Dance Again', Lopez said that she tried to make the relationship work but it eventually ended. The pain she felt during the divorce cannot be compared to anything else she felt in her entire life.
"I remember being on the set and being in my dressing room and not feeling like I could get up in the morning and there's just no pain like that," Lopez said.
The singer revealed that it was her ultimate dream to keep her family together, but in the end, there was just no hope. Lopez also stated that she was concerned about the welfare of her twins, Max and Emme, for the most part.
The effect of the broken marriage on the kids was evident during J-Lo's concert tour. The twins accompanied their mother to her shows. Emme showed off a heart necklace and talked about her father.
"This is so I can always remember my daddy. I'm going to be with him. I want to remember him so I bought this heart," Emme said.
Lopez admitted that seeing her kids miss their father hurts her a lot. The "Let's Get Loud" singer had to put up a great show for all the fans despite the divorce issues.
J-Lo traveled to 65 cities in 5 continents for the world tour from June to December 2012. The grand finale was held in Puerto Rico where she also performed her first concert.
At the final location, Lopez requested Anthony to perform "No Mes Ames" with her. Anthony hesitated, but gave in to his former wife's request and the duet was greatly appreciated by the fans.
Lopez and Anthony married on June 2004 and ended their relationship in 2011. The singer/actress dated her dancer Casper Smart after a few months while Anthony remarried to model Shannon De Lima.
'Jennifer Lopez: Dance Again' documentary was aired via HBO on Dec. 31, 2014.
