In 2016, Jennifer Lopez will be following in the footsteps of Britney Spears and several other artists by moving to Las Vegas. Lopez, 45 years of age, announced the news on the May 12^th episode of American Idol. Before making the announcement, she teased it to fans.

She also said that she will actually be performing in the same hotel and the same theater as Britney Spears.

Lopez, who stars as a judge on American Idol, got her fans excited when she teased in a post on Instagram that she had a HUGE announcement on the day of the show.

Her announcement also included that she will be getting residency at Planet Hollywood.

The star posted a video, imparting the exciting news, and captioned it, "So excited!!! This is going to be the show I've always dreamed of creating. Tickets on sale Saturday May 16 #JLoVegas".

J.Lo will be performing shows five nights a week, beginning on January 20^th, 2016.

The shows will likely be sold out, and feature many of Lopez' Classic hits, as well as her new ones. The star herself is quite excited about it.

She said in a statement, "I've been preparing for this moment my entire life. The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love - Dance, Hip Hop, Latin and Pop. It's going to be the show I've always dreamt of creating."
