Jennifer Lawrence News: 'Hunger Games' Star and Amy Schumer to Collaborate on Screenplay
Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer have confirmed that they are working together on a new movie project. Oscar winner Lawrence has shared that she and Schumer, star of Trainwreck, will collaborate on a comedic screenplay in which they both also plan to star.
Lawrence recently shared with The New York Times: "We play sisters." she continues to tease, "We're almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We've got about 100 pages right now."
The star of Hunger Games shared how happy she was to be working with Schumer, stating that they were "creatively made for each other.
She went on to say that collaborating with Schumer was " the most fun experience of [her] life
"We start the day off on the phone, laughing," Lawrence shared about the writing process between the two of them, "And then we send each other pages. And we crack up."
Lawrence said the 2 friends only recently met when she contacted Schumer to praise her on her highly popular comedy.
"I emailed her after I saw Trainwreck and said, 'I don't know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I'm in love with you,'" Lawrence said.
The stars' soon became even closer when Lawrence went on a jet skiing trip with Schumer last month. Photos of the friends made headlines when Schumer posted them on social media.
"We really hit it off, to say the least," Lawrence said.
Schumer was the first person the American Hustle star told when she recently broke the news that made headlines.
She texted her from the interview room itself. She said: "I wrote, 'I just spilled the beans,'" Schumer was very supportive of her friend.
