Jared Leto Joker Photo News: Director David Ayer Posts 'Suicide Squad' Villain Pic on Twitter
Academy Award winner Jared Leto now takes on the role of the Joker, which was last played by the late actor Heath Ledger. Leto will be playing the character for the upcoming DC super villain team-up movie, "Suicide Squad.'
The director of the movie, David Ayer released the image of the all-new Joker portrayed by Leto, to celebrate the character's 75th anniversary of his first appearance in DC comics, in 1940.

Leto's version of the Joker is much different from the one portrayed by Ledger. In the picture posted by Ayer, Leto is seen to be shirtless, with his hair dyed green and sporting a look with black smudged eyeliner, dark red lipstick, a grill and a quirky expression. He also wears a purple glove on one hand and sports several tattoos, including the words "damaged" and "Ha ha" repeated many times, both on one side of his chest and on one of his arms. To complete the look, he has tattoos of a skeletal court jester.
Leto will be the third actor to play the Joker on the silver screen, after Jack Nicholson and Ledger.
"Suicide Squad' also stars "The Wolf of Wall Street's' Margot Robbie as the Joker's girlfriend, Harley Quinn, plus Will Smith, Viola Davis, Cara Delevingne, "Insurgent's' Jai Courtney and "Lost and Oz' alum Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
As it stands, the movie is scheduled to release on August 5, 2016
