The newest episode of "Jane the Virgin" proves yet again that the wedding of Jane and Michael is behind the eight ball. Since the beginning, their relationship has been fraught with encumbrances, and their wedding is no exception to that.

Based on the official promo for the next episode titled "Chapter Forty-Three," Jane learns from Rogelio that her wedding guests will have to pass through a picket line in order to get to the venue because of a protest rally conducted by the crew right at the very venue of her wedding. The bad news sends the bride into panic mode, while Rogelio remains unruffled by the situation.

Whether Jane pushes through with the wedding or pushes it back remains to be seen in episode 21.

The previous episode of the series hardly mentioned anything about the wedding as it solely focused on the animosity between Jane and Petra. The fact that the impending big event was hardly touched on in episode 20 indicates that the wedding plans might actually get overturned.

Meanwhile, the official synopsis for the episode suggests that Jane is planning to throw a big party for her one-year-old son before she Rogelio tells her about the strike that is taking place at her wedding venue.

"Jane plans a big party for Mateo's first birthday, but she gets bad news about her wedding venue. Meanwhile, Michael thinks that Derek and Mutter are secret cohorts; and Jane second guesses her writing skills just as Alba gets a lead on a book publisher."
