James Bond Musical News, Rumors: Agent 007 Shoots for Broadway

It seems that it is all the rage these days to turn popular movies and movie franchises into musicals.

First, Clueless fans were excited to hear that the film would be heading to Broadway, and now it seems that it will be joined by one of the most famous movie franchises of all time.
Merry Saltzman, who is the daughter of the famed James Bond producer, Harry Saltzman, has confirmed that she has earned the rights to produce a musical based on Agent 007.

The show, which will be called James bond: The Musical, will have an original storyline and will include several well known James Bond villains, as well as some new faces.

In an interview with Playbill.com Saltzman told the site that the musical would also include a new Bond girl, and the show will be opening its doors to the public in late 2017 or early 2018.

She added that she has yet to find a venue for the show, but it will either open in Broadway or in Las Vegas.

More details about the show and its casting have yet to be announced.

The James Bond franchise is one of the longest running series in history, which has grossed six thousand million dollars combined at the box office since its first movie in 1962, Dr. No.

Based on the fourteen novels published by Ian Fleming from 1953 to 1966, seven actors have portrayed the spy since the film franchise first began.

The twenty fourth film in the series, which is called Spectre, is due to be released this fall, and will feature Daniel Craig as Bond and Lea Seydoux as a new Bond girl.
