J.K. Rowling News: 'Harry Potter' Author Correctly Predicted the Birth Date of Princess Charlotte
Many people bet money that Prince William and Kate Middleton's new baby girl would be called Alice, however, she turned out to be named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
On a side note, J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, predicted the baby's date of birth correctly.
On Friday, Rowling said that the royal baby would be born on May 2nd. In a post on Twitter, she said "I wonder what odds we'd get on the royal baby being born tomorrow and called Victoria?"
The author shared a follow up to this tweet, which said "Loads of confused people are asking what's special about tomorrow. It's the 17th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. Just had a thought."
The fact that Rowling was completely right with the first half of her prediction, which she made on the 1st of May, it would not have been surprising if people who follow her on
Twitter changed their name bets at the last minute to Victoria.
This part of the "prediction" came from the fact that Victoire Weasley was born on the anniversary of the Battle in the series.
According to E! News, Ladbrokes got somewhere around $302,000 worth of bets that have been placed since September 2014 when the couple first announced their pregnancy.
The betting company also stated that the amount of bets made total came up to something like 1.5 million dollars.
Bookies in the United Kingdom had to pay 1.5 million dollars total to betters all across the country who bet that Kate would be giving birth to a baby girl and calling her Charlotte.
