J.K. Rowling News: Author Says There Will Never Be A 'Harry Potter' Television Series

J.K. Rowling has made 'Harry Potter' one of the most lucrative franchises out there today, and while the movie series has wrapped up years ago, recent news has suggested that the world isn't yet done with the boy who lived.

With a confirmed spin-off film trilogy on the way, along with a play, fans have moved their interest into the next avenue for the wizarding community. A television show.

While there are many fans that would support a venture such as this, Rowling has recently took to Twitter denouncing a project like that to ever happen.

"Right after the opera, Potter-on-ice and the interpretative dance version of Beedle the Bard ?#NotActuallyHappening," she tweeted in a response to a fan's question.

She goes on to quip about the Potter-on-ice idea saying, "To all those begging for Potter-on-Ice: the image of Ice Voldemort performing the triple salchow will haunt my dreams tonight. ?#sick."

It's unknown why the author is so against the idea of a TV show, however Rowling has always been very protective of her long-running franchise. She's had her hands in every film that has come out of the movie series, along with the upcoming spin-off, 'Fantastic Beasts.'

She also cleared up some confusion a fan had about the wizarding government that will be later expanded on in the spin-off movie.

"Once again taking to Twitter, Rowling shared a little bit of new information about the international system of wizarding government, tweeting that unlike the Muggle U.S. Congress, the governing body of American wizards is a single body. She also wrote that the International Confederation of Wizards is the wizarding equivalent to the United Nations," writes EW.
