Fans of iZombie have been wondering for some time whether or not Aly Michalka, who plays Peyton on the show, will be returning to reprise her role for its second season.

The last time viewers saw Peyton Charles, she was running in terror from her roommate, Liz, who is played by Rose McIver, who had become fully zombified.

After she left, it was assumed that she had left iZombie for good. According to E! Online, however, this may not be the case.

Showrunner Rob Thomas spoke on what the future of Peyton on the show looks like.

The reason for Peyton's departure has a lot more to do with behind the scenes happenings with Aly Michalka, the actress who portrays her.

Michalka left the show to try her luck on a pilot, which meant giving up a more regular role in Season two of the show.

However, for fans of Michalka and her character, the pilot did not go to season, which means that Michalka is technically available to reprise her role.

From what Thomas says, however, it is not expected that she will be available for season two.

"Because she's not a series regular, we can't control her schedule," said Thomas. "We can hope that when we write these episodes for her that she can and will do them."

Some other spoilers that have made splashes as production for season two begins are that Detective Babineaux will direct all his attention to the recent murder of Lt. Suzuki.

Also, Blaine and Liv may become allies if he can forgive her for injecting him with the untested zombie cure.
