'iZombie,' the hit television series based on the comic book series with the same title from DC Comics, will return for its second season on Oct. 6.

Latin Post reports that in Season 2, 'iZombie' will be introducing a number of new characters. The CW telvevison series revolves around the life of Liv Moore (Rose McIver), a successful medical student-turned-zombie, who was for to consume brains of murder victims in order to survive in her new condition. In fact, Liv collects her food at her new job from the morgue.

Earlier, the website reported that Liv's father will be introduced in the upcoming season. This is the first time that Liv would be meeting her father in the show. A report in IB Times stated that Liv's boss at the morgue may possibly be able to make a zombie cure during the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, 'iZombie' showrunner Rob Thomas revealed that Liv will be going to see her friends and loved ones depart from her in the beginning episodes of Season 2. While Liv's roommate Peyton (Aly Michalka) runs away and Major (Robert Buckley) becomes angry with her for transforming him into a zombie, she may further distance her brother as well as mother for declining a probable zombie tainted transfusion.

The Hollywood Reporter quotes Thomas as saying, "Everyone who was in that intervention scene in the pilot - Peyton, her mom, her brother and Major - everyone who was trying to pull her out of her doldrums at the beginning of season one, she will be estranged from as we begin Season 2."

Meanwhile, Thomas also shared some more secrets regarding the upcoming season of 'iZombie,' particularly about the relationship between Blaine and Liv. He said, "It's not as though they're going to become buddies, but they will need to work together to survive."

"iZombie" will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 6 on the CW.
