'Iron Man 4' Movie News, Rumors: Robert Downey Jr. Passes His Character To Young Actor?

Fans are patiently waiting for Robert Downey Jr. to confirm his participation in the rumored "Iron Man 4" while some believe that he might pass the titular role of another artist, others are still hopeful that the actor will still portray the billionaire superhero.

While Marvel has not confirmed the motion picture yet, Parent Herald noted that the colossal production is working on producing three big films which will kick off in May, July and November of 2020. The details about the films are still hidden but the website hopes that one of it will be Downey Jr.'s standalone film.

On the other hand, Pakistan First also reported that the highest paid actor is currently busy with three Marvel films, which are the highly anticipated "Captain America: Civil War" and the two-part motion pictures "Avengers: Infinity Wars." His hectic schedule seems to hint that he do not have time to commit to "Iron Man 4" should there be.

Parent Herald also noted that Downey might not be interested to play as Tony Stark anymore because of his age. And for that, Marvel might try to test the waters by passing the baton to a younger actor.

"It's almost impossible to replace Robert, he's the biggest movie star in the world. One close up from Robert is worth another actor's entire performance, he's incredibly gifted and insanely talented," film director Joe Russo told Forbes. Additionally, he said that if RDJ declines the offer, they might need to have some time off before they can reboot the character with a fresh and new perspective.
