'Iron Man 4' Movie News: Release Date Still Uncertain, Robert Downey Jr. Might Be Replaced

There is still no news on the next release of the fourth "Iron Man" movie and it seems that there won't be any coming out soon. Does this really mean that we have seen the last of Robert Downey Jr. in an Iron Man stand alone film?

There have been reports according to Christian Post which indicate that Marvel has not made any plans yet for the fourth "Iron Man" movie. The studios may not even prioritize it until at least after 2020. That would be a very long time and Downey would be around the age of 54.

It would be time to find another actor to play the billionaire industrialist and genius inventor, Tony Stark, but doubt that there would be any reboot of the movie franchise since Marvel still has to tie it all up with the things that are happening around their universe right now, which Tony Stark happens to play a major piece in.

With Downey retiring from the role, the studios could have someone they can pay less since Downey was deemed as the highest paid actor in 2015. He received a total of $40 million for "Captain America: Civil War."

Downey is still expected to be included in the upcoming Marvel movies "Captain America: Civil War" and "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2." Reports say that Downey's contract with Marvel is about to end soon so I guess "Avengers: Infinity War Part 2" will be his farewell movie as Iron Man. It's so sad to admit it, but all good things must come to an end.
