'Iron Man 4' Release Date, Cast Rumors: Robert Downey Jr. Leaving Franchise? Says He's 'Tired'
News about Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" have been making rounds on the Internet, and while many are excited about the movies, some Iron Man fans are in despair after learning that Robert Downey Jr. will allegedly depart from the "Iron Man" movie franchise.
Rumors about Downey leaving his epic role as Tony Stark have been persistent, and worse, the actor allegedly stated that he has grown "tired" of his role, so a possible replacement has been speculated, as Youth Health Magazine reports.
Sony Hacks, has gone on to write that "Iron Man 4" could be moved to a later 2020 release date, as they reveal that the franchise might start a new story and for that, a new talent that could fill Downey's shoes.
On the other hand, Crossmap noted that there must be another reason for Downey's departure from the film. One major fact, according to them, would be his age. Downey Jr. has been portraying the role since 2008, and should the rumors be true, the production team might want to think of a creative way to introduce a new actor, "much like passing the baton."
So far, the actor who is speculated to be most likely to play Iron Man is Ty Simpkins, who played as Hayley Keener in Iron Man 3. So far, Downey Jr. and the rest of "Iron Man" team have stayed mum on the rumors.
Meanwhile, Marvel's most anticipated film of this year "Captain America: Civil War" will be out in cinemas on May 6. The superhero film will feature team Iron Man and Team Captain America in the most epic battle.
