'Iron Man 4' Cast News, Release Date: Robert Downey Jr. Reprises Role for Upcoming Film

Robert Downey Jr. has finally set the jokes aside and has admitted that a fourth 'Iron Man' movie is going to hit the big screen. He broke the news on Ellen DeGeneres' show, after she pulled the exciting news out of him.

Downey Jr. said to Ellen, "I know there's going to be a bunch more Marvel movies and they have big ideas of how to do it best. You know we're in the middle of negotiations...."

Ellen then interjected, "So, yes?"

Robert paused for a second as said, "OK, Yes!"

The whole set and audiences across the globe cheered at his response which has long gone unconfirmed. This makes sense considering Downey himself stated a month ago that there was 'no plan' for a fourth movie.

The 49-year-old actor has changed his mind because last week, he played a joke and talked about doing the movie only if Mel Gibson directs it. The news was confirmed by Deadline who quoted Robert Downey Jr. on that, "Why not? That movie would be bananas"

But is Mel Gibson actually directing the movie? "It was an offhanded remark to a journalist and friend. I have other projects in mind for Mel and I - sooner than later the Marvel Roster will be made public and all questions will be answered," Robert later clarified, as cited by E! News.

Also this means Marvel would be paying RDJ another millions of dollars just like they did with 'Iron Man 3'. "Isn't that crazy? They're so [angry]. I can't believe it. I'm what's known as 'a strategic cost,'" Robert said.

Apparently he was paid $50 million for 'Iron Man 3', a pay rate which will probably stay the same for 'Iron Man 4', which is expected to release 2019.
