iPod Touch 6G Specs and Features News: Apple Releases New Device With Important Improvements

The sixth-generation iPod Touch has finally arrived, at a time when most fans of the portable music device from Apple Inc. had virtually given up all hopes.

A report in Christian Today states that recently the Cupertino-based tech titan released the highly expected upgrade to the iPad Touch product line via its official website. For most fans, the long wait has been worthwhile in view of the improvements incorporated in the new touchscreen portable multimedia entertainment device over the iPod Touch 5G, which was released in 2012.

The most noteworthy improvement in the iPod touch 6G can perhaps be found under the hood. The new iPod Touch 6G comes with the latest Apple A8 processor and Apple M8 motion co-processor alongside 64-bit architecture, which also power the company's current flagship iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices. On the other hand, the device is somewhat underclocked at 1.1 GHz in comparison to the 1.4 GHz of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones. The new iPod Touch 6G also features 1 GB of RAM, which is twice the size of the iPod Touch 6G.

Moreover, the iPod Touch 6G runs using iOS 8.4 straight out of the box, meaning that the latest multimedia entertainment device can instantly access Apple Music to access several thousands songs under its catalog, in addition to Apple Music's Beats 1 Internet-based radio station. In addition, iPod Touch 6G can also be updated to iOS 9 when the operating system is launched later this year.

Other noteworthy enhancements in the latest iPod Touch 6G include an 8-megapixel rear iSight camera with 1080p video recording capability at 30fps.
