IPL 2014 Live Stream Free: Watch Online Mi vs RCB – Mumbai Indians Look to Retain New-Found Winning Momentum
Returning to their winning ways, defending champions Mumbai Indians will now look to exploit the home advantage when they meet the fancied Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 27th match of the Pepsi Indian Premier League 2014 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Tuesday.
MI had a terrible time in the UAE leg of the tournament, losing all their five games played there. However, as the tournament moved to India, the MI boys are back on their winning track defeating the formidable Kings XI Punjab by five wickets in their last match. This was KXIP's first defeat in IPL 7.
More than their bowling, it was MI's batting which led them down in the UAE, but the team put up a collective batting performance in their last game to overcome Punjab's challenge. In fact, the team is still trying to sort out its batting issues to get a good start. Although they have tried a number of opening combinations with skipper Rohit Sharma, Michael Hussy, Aditya Tare, C M Gautam and Ben Dunk, the results have not been encouraging.
The team is now relying on its middle order comprising, Corey Anderson and Kieron Pollard, who have performed well in all the six outings so far.
Mumbai's bowling attack - Lasith Malinga (9 wickets) and Zaheer Khan (5 wickets), performed somewhat better than its batting line-up. Nevertheless, the team is unlikely to get the services of Zaheer in Tuesday's match, as he has sustained a shoulder injury in the last game. In this event, the team has to rely on its veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh, who scalped two Punjab wickets.
On the other hand, RCB with six points from an equal number of matches would be keen to return to their winning ways after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match. In fact, after winning the first three outings, the team has lost the three subsequent games.
They would, however, be inspired by the fact that they thrashed Mumbai by three wickets in their last encounter in Mumbai. Moreover, it would be an uphill task for the Mumbai bowlers to contain the formidable RCB batting line-up comprising skipper Virat Kohli, explosive West Indian batsman Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Yuvraj Singh, who helped India to win two World Cups.
Though the team lost three straight games, the bowling unit of RCB is a balanced one, comprising Varun Aron (10 wickets), Mitchell Starc (9 wickets) and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (7 wickets).
All said and done, Tuesday's IPL match will definitely be an interesting one, with two formidable teams clashing for two valuable points.
The match will start at 10.30 a.m. ET (2.30 p.m. GMT and 8.00 p.m. local time) and can be watched live on GoCricket.com and SkyCricket.net.
