iPhone 8 Release Date Rumors: Is The Device Worth The Wait?

The iPhone 7 won't even be released yet until Sept. 16 this year, and yet rumors about Apple working on the iPhone 8 are already going around.

The question now is should you just ignore the iPhone 7 and wait for the iPhone 8 instead?

Fans are already wary about the lack of audio jack on the iPhone 7, as well as the absence of the home button. There's also the speculation that the device doesn't have stereo speakers as well.

But Forbes said Apple has been accused of contenting itself to cosmetic changes in its mobile devices. The iPhone 7 is the first time in a long time when it's taken "new, appealing steps forward." For instance, because of the absence of the audio jack, it allows the company to produce the thinnest device yet along with a bigger battery.

These new features, however, do give some consumers pause. It's not clear, how they would react to the new additions (and some subtractions).

And then there's the iPhone 8, which is rumored to be released next year. It's no twist of fate that in 2017, it's already been a decade since the launch of the first generation. It does make sense that Apple would be going all out on its flagship.

One of the more anticipated features is the shift to OLED from the present LCD screen, although admittedly Apple is behind Samsung on this aspect. Apart from the amazing display, it would also mean huge savings on the battery life. There are also the rumors that the iPhone 7 would be built on a glass body, which would be ground-breaking if the Cupertino-based company could make it work.
