iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs Rumors: New Leak Confirms No Headphone Jack, Booster Rear Cam

Apple must be very frustrated with the iPhone 7 as it couldn't keep all the leaks and news reports from circulating on the web. Now, the latest leaks allegedly confirmed that previous rumors about the absence of a headphone jack, as well as the rear camera being boosted.

Gordon Kelly wrote a news article for Forbes where he confirmed the latest leak. He said the design of the iPhone 7 showed a Lightning port at the center with two speakers on the sides.

What that means is that iPhone 7 users will have to purchase an adaptor for the Lighting port and will have to say goodbye to their earphones.

"Supply chain contacts tell me Apple is still testing both single and dual speaker variants of the iPhone 7, but it appears the company has now settled on significantly boosting its external audio," it said.

But a conflicting news report from Tech Radar advised consumers to hold on to their headphones because leaked images suggest that a 3.5mm jack was still included in the iPhone 7 circuitry.

"Removing the jack could do more harm than good, especially in the short term, so we doubt it will happen," it added.

In another leaked image, the design of the iPhone 7 reveal bigger camera lens on the back of the device, which also promises to have a bigger sensor. It also appears as if the phone will only feature single lens, while the iPhone 7 Plus is anticipated to have dual-camera setup.

The larger sensor would probably help the iPhone 7 get clearer photos in poor lighting conditions, which was one of the main complaints for the iPhone 6. Watch out for more news regarding Apple's new flagship, which is rumored to be released in September this year.
