iPhone 7 Plus Release Date, Price, Specs Rumors, News: 'Massive Changes' Expected In Apple's New Flagship?

The release date for the iPhone 7 Plus, touted to be the new flagship for Apple, is expected to be announced in September 2016. And the rumor mill is buzzing about the device bringing "radical changes" from the iPhone 6S, according to Inquirer.

The leaked images online don't really hint of a massive change in terms of the design, but that's not really surprising considering Apple's aesthetics strategy.

"Apple will kit out the iPhone 7 with "hardware innovations" such as water resistance in a bid to catch up with Samsung in terms of market share," it said. "The next iPhone is expected to be thinner than the iPhone 6S, which could be made possible by ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack port."

But Apple Insider claimed that Apple may even announce the release date for the iPhone 7 Plus earlier than September.

"Exactly how early it might launch, however, remains unknown. Up until the iPhone 4s in 2011, the first four generations of iPhone upgrades launched in the summer, in the months of June and July," the article added. "The lone outlier from those launch windows was the iPhone 4s, which became available in October."

All the rumors suggested that the iPhone 7 Plus will be the slimmest phone in the Apple lineup yet. And one of the ways to do this is the manufacturer eliminating the 3.5mm headphone jack and utilize Bluetooth technology for audio.

"We hope and expect the iPhone 7 Plus to start at 32GB, with further 64GB and 128GB options," MacWorld suggested. "One rumour suggests that the 7 Plus may even go as high as 256GB - an additional option that the iPhone 7 will miss out on."

As to the price, the iPhone 7 Plus is rumored to start at around $760 for the base model up to a thousand dollars for the 128GB.
