iPhone 6S Speculations & Rumors: Reports Hint Smaller iPhone 6 Variant May Come in September

Buoyed by the tremendous success of its latest flagship smartphones - the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple is said to be working to bring in a successor, the iPhone 6S. If the rumors making the rounds turn out to be true, the device may be launched some time around September this year.

According to IB Times, while Apple has yet to make any announcement in this regard, rumors on the Internet seem to be gaining ground with the passing of each day.

Earlier, Apple Insider reported that the iPhone 6S will come with an Apple SIM with a view to protect the smartphone from any jailbreak.

According to rumors, the purported iPhone 6S is likely to feature the latest Apple System on Chip A9 - a more powerful SoC compared to the existing A8 chipsets found in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. In addition, it is expected that the Cupertino-based tech titan will be signing an agreement with Samsung to make the chipset.

Some reports claimed that the upcoming iPhone may also feature the new screen technology called Force Touch, which already available in Apple Watch as well as new generation MacBooks. The purported iPhone 6S is also likely to introduce a number of gesture controls and may possibly also cover the screen with the upcoming display resistant technology Corning Project Phire.

As far as the screen size of the purported device is concerned, Apple might return to the old school and reinstate a smaller display compared to the iPhone 6. In fact, going by the current market trend, all flagship smartphones, including Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9, possesses a 5-inch to 5.2-inch display.

There are rumors that the latest iPhone may also come with a superior camera with less aperture and faster focusing ability. While the feedback on the iPhone 6 cameras was positive, the Samsung Galaxy S6 has posed a tough challenge that Apple may possibly try to meet with its upcoming iPhone.
