iPhone 6s & 6s Plus Release Date News: Upcoming Apple iPhones to Launch with Upgraded Features in September?
Although Apple is keeping mum on its much-anticipated upcoming devices, which have been dubbed as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, a lot of information has been leaked online during the past few weeks suggesting that the devices will come with notable feature upgrades over its predecessor, the iPhone 6.
According to a report in IB Times, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are expected to be released in September when its predecessors complete a one-year-cycle, but Apple is yet to make any announcement regarding the precise date. Meanwhile, in a recent report, M.I.C. Gadget has claimed that the devices will be unveiled on Sept. 11 before releasing on Sept. 18.
While the Cupertino-headquartered tech titan has not revealed anything regarding the iPhone 6s, if one goes by the reports that have appeared so far, the device is may have no less than five feature upgrades over the iPhone 6. The expected feature upgrades of the iPhone 6s are discussed briefly below.
Processor: While the iPhone 6 is powered by Apple A8, its successor, the purported iPhone 6s, is likely to pack a A9 chip under the hoods.
Operating System: It is expected that contrary to the iPhone 6, which runs on iOS 8, the iPhone 6s will run on the latest software iOS 9.
Memory: The iPhone 6 is equipped with 16GB, 64GB, and 128 GB as well as 1 GB RAM, but it is expected that the upcoming iPhone 6s will remove the 16 GB model. This means that the base model of iPhone 6s will come with 32 GB internal memory. In addition, the iPhone 6s is also likely to have 2 GB RAM.
Camera: The iPhone 6 packs an 8-megapixel primary rear camera alongside a 1.2-megapixel front-facing snapper. Contrary to this, it is expected that the upcoming iPhone 6s will come with a 12-megapixelmain camera with features that can take photographs with DSLR quality.
Fingerprint Sensor: It is expected that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will possess superior fingerprint sensor with a view to offer safer Apple Pay user experience via an upgraded Touch ID module.
As for the other features of the iPhone 6s, M.I.C. Gadget reports that it is expected to be 7 mm thick (compared to the 6.9 mm thickness of the iPhone 6), while the iPhone 6s Plus will be 7.13 mm thick (compared to the 7.1 mm thickness of the iPhone 6 Plus). Earlier, citing research data from Citi Research, a report in Business Insider had claimed that the devices will come with features such as stronger aluminium alloy chassis, Force Touch, and 4.7 and 5.5-inch display.
