iPhone 6 Plus vs Ascend Mate 7 Comparison: Specs and Display Review - Which Phablet is Right for You?
It's no secret that phablets have become the latest trend and Huwaei's Ascend Mate 7 and Apple's iPhone 6 are the top contenders for the most popular one.
In 2014, Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 Plus, which is a larger version of the iPhone 6. However, Huawei's Ascend Mate 7 goes one step futher and is slightly larger than the iPhone 6 Plus.
Size and Display
Ascend Mate 7 measures 6 inches and weighs 185 grams. The IPS LCD display screen has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, and a pixel density of 368ppi. The Huwaei device is made of aluminum and has beveled edges.
As for iPhone 6 Plus, it also sports an aluminum case with curved edges. It is a 5.5 inches bendable phone that measures 158 millimeters and weighs 172 grams. With a pixel density of 401ppi and smaller screen, the Apple handset has brighter and clearer images compared to Ascend Mate 7.
Specs
As for the hardware, Ascend Mate 7's system chip is HiSilicon Kirin 925 octa core and its operating system is Android 4.4 Emotion 3.0 UI. The processor is 8-core, 1800 MHz, ARM Cortex-A15 and ARM Cortex-A7. The built in storage is 32GB and it can be expanded up to 128 GB with a MicroSD card.
Unlike Ascend Mate, the iPhone 6 Plus' memory cannot be expanded and it comes in three sizes, which are 16 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB. The device runs with iOS8 and sports a Dual core, 1400 MHz, 64-bit processor.
Camera
Ascend Mate 7's main camera has 13 megapixels while the front facing camera has 5 megapixels. The device can take videos up to 1920x1080 (1080p HD). It has the usual features such as face detection, autofocus, geo tagging and digital zoom.
iPhone 6 Plus has an 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.2 mega pixels front facing camera. The camcorder feature is faster with 1920x1080 (1080p HD at 60 fps), 1280x720 (720p HD at 240 fps). Aside from the basic features, it can take pictures while video recording, it has a burst mode and slow-mo mode.
Battery
The battery of Ascend Mate 7 is non-removable at 4100 mAh and can stand by for 64 hours. iPhone 6's battery is also non-removable at 2915 mAh with stand by time of 384 hours.
As for the price, Ascend Mate 7 32GB sells for $868.99 while iPhone 6 Plus 16GB is at $819 on Amazon.
