iPhone 6 Plus AT&T Pre-Order Wait Times for 16GB, 64GB, 128GB, Gold Version and Other Colors
Apple is taking smartphone consumerism to a whole new level with the introduction of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Watch, and Apple Pay. This is also the first time that the Cupertino tech giant reinvented its iPhone series with a larger screen size, but still allowed buyers the option to maintain the classic look and feel of the flagship device.
Interestingly, Apple's market increased by about 40 to 60 percent on combined sales of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. CEO Tim Cook announced that this accounts to more than $10 million worth of sales that exceeded iPhone 5's 4 million sales in its first weekend.
Due to high demand, wireless mobile carriers in United States such as AT&T are now enlisting back orders for iPhone 6. In a statement, Apple said "Demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October."
AT&T, one of the official iPhone 6 Plus carriers, offers 2-year contract at $27 monthly fee on the 16GB variant and $32.50 for the 20-month lock in period. Subscribers can upgrade to a larger capacity iPhone after the contract. Those who do not wish to be tied on a monthly subscription can opt to buy iPhone 6 Plus 16GB at $650, the 64GB at $750, and 128GB at $950.
AT&T back orders may arrive in seven to 10 days time. Steven Ortega, an AT&T user told Alligator "I believe that they are putting out ideas that have already been thought about. They are just promoting it in a better light."
