iPad Pro Specs Rumors: Apple Working on 12.9-inch Tablet-Laptop Hybrid With Stylus?
Taking a cue from Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 tablet, a tablet-laptop hybrid, Apple is now reportedly working to produce a new large screen device to step up competition with its Redmond-based rival. According to rumors, Apple's next-gen iPad, which has been dubbed as iPad Pro, will come with a bigger screen - 12.9 inches with sharper resolution. It is also rumored that the so-called iPad Pro will come with a stylus and be unveiled sometime later in 2015.
Christian Today quotes a report in Apple Insider claiming that Apple will name the add-on as its iPen or Apple Pen. The website also claimed that it obtained this information from a KGI Securities analyst named Ming-Chi Kuo, who is reputed to be the "world's most accurate Apple analyst." In fact, Kuo is credited with revealing numerous products from Apple as well as their hardware specifications accurately much before their unveiling. More recently, He correctly forecast the Apple Watch release date as well the hardware specs of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Currently, Kuo is said to be analyzing iPads, and is now concentrating on the purported larger-sized tablet from the Cupertino-based tech titan. Kuo has claimed that upcoming device's stylus' key feature will be dubbed 3D Handwriting. In order to incorporate this feature, Apple will not require making any hardware changes on the iPad.
It is worth mentioning here that the Cupertino-headquartered tech titan has already registered patents for its own stylus. In fact this further suggests that Apple may possibly pack the stylus with the purported iPad Pro. However, Apple is yet to confirm anything regarding the bundling of the stylus or whether the company will include the feature in the previous generation iPads.
It is rumored that Apple will release the purported 12.9-inch iPad Pro alongside the next iOS update of the company and its first wearable device, the Apple Watch.
