iPad Pro 2 Release Date, Rumors: Leaked Prototype Confirms Fall 2016 Launch?

Previous news and rumors pointed to a fall release date for the iPad Pro 2. Now, leaked images of what appeared to be a prototype shows that Apple is closer than ever to unveil the latest addition to its tablet family.

The leaked images were sent to Apple Insider purportedly from a Chinese supplier that is working on the latest iPad.

However, the images do not give much information about the iPad Pro 2. However, the article noted that the prototype only features 12GB of storage which would not be sufficient for anything else other than to load an OS to debug a hardware or test an app.

Based on the pictures, Apple Insider added, it seems the iPad Pro 2 will be using the iOS 10.

According to Mac Rumors, there's no word yet from Apple regarding the specs for the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2. But speculations claimed that it will be run by an A10X processor and possibly the True Tone display. It would also reportedly feature a better camera.

As to the 3D Touch, that is still up in the air considering the difficulty of porting that tech from the iPhone to a much larger screen.

Apple has taken a hit on its iPad lineup in terms of sales, but that's not a knock on its designs. In general, fans have been turning to the larger screen smart phones instead of tablets.

CNet said that the iPad Pro 2, with its 12.9-inch display, is the company's latest attempt to get back the interest of the end users. The iPad Pro was launched in November 2015, which prompted the rumors that the iPad Pro 2 will be revealed this November as well.
