As far as rumors go, the release date for the iPad Mini 5 will be next month until the official news channels will say otherwise.

For now, there's no change in the speculation that the new tablet will be launched along with the iPhone 7 or the iPhone 6SE in the first or second week of September. The iPad Mini 4 was launched on
Sept. 9, along with the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.

Mac World said, however, that the hopes of fans out there might be dashed if the rumors are true regarding Apple's plan to overhaul its iPad lineup, which may mean that the release date won't happen until October this year.

According to several news reports and rumors, the iPad Mini 5 will be even slimmer than the iPad Mini 5. Although it could not be confirmed, the new tablet will a skeletal 5mm in thickness compared to its predecessor's 6.1mm. That gave way to the speculation that it won't have any audio jack to make the desired thickness work.

Apple has been known to keep its cards close to its chest, which explains why there's an scarcity of information when it comes to the iPad Mini 5.

Nevertheless, PC Advisor speculated that the price point for the next gen tablet will range from $416 for the most basic and $756 to the high-end phone.

The website also shared the rumor about Apple using the Series 7000 aluminum for the iPad Mini 5, which is billed to be a lighter and tougher material.
