iPad Mini 4 Specs & Release Date Rumors: Apple to Launch New Tablet in April?

Even as the rumor mill is busy churning out new stories regarding the next iPhone and a purported iPod Touch 6G, latest rumors claim that Apple is planning to launch another device this year. There are rumors saying that the Cupertino-based tech titan is focused on the next-gen iPad Mini and plans to launch it with the A8 processor.

Christian Today says that there are rumors that the purported iPad Mini 4 will come with a 2 GB RAM, in addition to an 802.11 ac Wi-Fi support, currently known as the Wi-Fi standard. The device is expected to offer a maximum of 1733 Mbps of wireless Internet connection, which can also function on a 5 GHz frequency band.

Nevertheless, as of now, there is very limited information regarding the purported iPad Mini 4, particularly regarding the design of the product. However, the design of the upcoming device is likely to be similar to that of the iPad Air 2, which is 6.1 mm thin.

The purported iPad Mini 4 will succeed the iPad Mini 3, which was released in October 2014, but failed to meet expectations of the tech enthusiasts and consumers alike. This is primarily owing to the fact because Apple opted to develop the device with the old A7 processor - the same chipset present the iPad Mini 2. In other words, it suggests that nearly all the internal features of the iPad Mini 3 are identical to its predecessor. The only difference between the two iPad versions is the Touch ID and the gold color option. This merely made the iPad Mini 3 an updated version of the iPad Mini 2.

An earlier report by Christian Post claimed that Apple would announce the new iPad Mini 4 in April, while it would be available in the stores worldwide by September or October. However, Apple continues to remain silent on these reports, neither confirming nor denying them.

As of now, Apple has confirmed the release of the Apple Watch, the MacBook 2015, in addition to the enhanced versions of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro. The tech titan has yet to confirm the release of the iPad Mini 4 along with other rumored devices such as the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7 in 2015.
